BOLIVAR COFRADIA LOST AND FOUND OSCURO | CIGAR REVIEW

NOVEMBER 13, 2022 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

BOLIVAR COFRADIA LOST AND FOUND OSCURO TORO (6 x 54)

WRAPPER: USA CONNECTICUT BROADLEAF

BINDER: ECUADORIAN SUMATRA

FILLER: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, NICARAGUA, HONDURAS

That’s a lot of names. Let's go with Oscuro.

Oscuro’s introduction of earth, cocoa, and wood is nice. Not mind-blowing, but nice. For whatever reason, I really dig the bands. Simple, classy, and a classic aesthetic. Sounds like something I would like. Mind-blowing.

The retrohale’s dark nature allows for dark earth and a bit of dark chocolate if I search hard enough. The finish has a harsh beginning, which fades a little into leather and dark coffee. Again, if I search hard enough, dark chocolate hangs out there too.

Oscuro’s draw and smoke output are as good as any. I’m never sure if “as good as any” is actually a compliment, but that was the intent.

Leather, wood, and some subtle dark chocolate wander around the room.

Oscuro starts struggling to stay lit at the halfway point, and I let it limp along until it finally quits on me. My trusty, inexpensive lighter gets it back on track. The burn line needs no assistance.

Aside from fruit coming in every now and then, the profile chugs along consistently.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 17 mins.

RATING: 2.5 / 4 - As good as some.
