FAMILY X LOYALTY HATI | CIGAR REVIEW

MARCH 5, 2023 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

FAMILY X LOYALTY HATI GRAN TORO (6 x 54)

WRAPPER: CONNECTICUT

BINDER: CRIOLLO ‘98

FILLER: COROJO, NICARAGUA

Earth and leather jump out front. Spice and vanilla step in after a handful of easy draws. Toasted vanilla and earth flow from the nose, and spice, earth, and leather linger in equal parts on the finish, allowing for a further sampling of vanilla.

Smoke fills the room in short order, and the ash is nearly sheathed. Nice.

Hati lends aromas of wood, spice, and vanilla to the room.

Overall, aside from some smooth coffee sneaking in, the Hati never strays from where it began, and that’s not a bad thing at all. Transitions can be fun, but consistency should never be underestimated or overlooked.

If you enjoy Connecticuts, which I do from time to time, Hati will serve you well.

While I don’t talk much about pairings, Hati would fit the classic bill of partaking in a cigar and a nice cup of coffee while sitting on the porch. In my case, that coffee would be combined with some chocolate milk. Some people say that’s just hot chocolate. Fair enough.

Full disclosure. My liquid pairings with cigars include chocolate milk and coffee, water, the occasional cream soda, and more chocolate milk, and I would be happy to share any of those with Hati. I’m a simple guy.

What about the burn? Good quesiton. I didn’t have to think about it.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 43 mins.

RATING: 3 / 4 - A simple guy.
