HOYO DE MONTERREY SHADE TORO (6 x 52)
WRAPPER: HONDURAN SHADE
BINDER: HONDURAS
FILLER: HONDURAS

Sweet cream and dry grass enter quietly, and broken bits of leather close the door. Perfect draw. Spice, grass, and touches of sweet cream linger on the finish. A fairly clean retrohale pushes light earth and some general sweetness.
Ash holds well but tends to be a little rough around the edges. The burn isn’t picture-perfect, but it takes care of itself.

I usually catch some videos as I’m left to myself reviewing cigars, and today was no different. A highlight would be Nirvana’s MTV Unplugged performance of “On A Plain”. That song is at the top of my list for Nirvana. Excellent.
Then, I drifted over to a live performance of Stone Temple Pilots’ “Big Empty”. That just might be a perfect song. Excellent slinky, greasy groove by Eric Kretz. He’s one of my favorites.
If Shade was a song, it would be the unplugged (pun intended) version. Nice and relaxing.

SMOKE TIME: 2 hrs.
RATING: 3 / 4 - Unplugged.
