MACANUDO SUMATRA ROBUSTO (5 x 50)
WRAPPER: ECUADORIAN SUMATRA
BINDER: USA BROADLEAF
FILLER: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC, NICARAGUA

A slightly resistant draw produces spice, milk chocolate, and a smooth line of leather right down the center. The burn took some coaxing, but I might have things moving along now. We’ll see.
Smoke output moves from okay to good once we getting rolling.
Coffee, spice, and milk chocolate coat the palate on the finish. Chocolate, both milk and dark, along with anise on the retrohale. Interesting combination. I dig it.

Ash flakes a bit but remains solid enough.
Dark roast coffee flows through milk chocolate, leaving remnants of dark chocolate and coffee on the finish just past the half.
The burn proves to be the least consistent aspect. Throughout it would move on its own for a good bit of time only to get lazy for about the same amount of time. Maybe it was too early in the morning for Sumatra.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 37 mins.
RATING: 3 / 4 - Early morning.
