SP1014 LOVE N' PASSION | CIGAR REVIEW

MARCH 12, 2023 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

SP1014 LOVE N’ PASSION 650 (6 x 50)

WRAPPER: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

BINDER: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

FILLER: DOMINICAN REPUBLIC

Love n’ Passion (LNP) starts with a weighty kick of leather for the first couple puffs. Spice, graphite, and a distant fruit and cookie sweetness follow up within the next few draws. Cookie sweetness. Reminds me of those cookies McDonald’s used to put in their Happy Meals. Too young for that reference? Well, no witty age joke comes to mind right now. Anyway.

Spice, earth, oatmeal, and unsweetened syrup-covered oak hang around on the palate until the next pull.

Earth, sweetness, and spice blow through the retrohale. The spice awakens the nose without kicking down the door.

Light aromas of oak, maple syrup, chocolate, and spice swirl around the shed. The draw is spot-on, and the smoke output keeps my air purifier steadily working.

LNP begins to dwindle as we move along. Leather, earth, and fruit work well together on the draw, but everything else has vanished. Can’t say I miss graphite. The finish offers coffee, earth, and dashes of cookie. Still McDonald’s but not as sweet. Dark chocolate and earth flow through the nose smoothly.

The burn works independently, allowing me to smoke and not work, which I always appreciate. Harshness builds a bit at the end.

I would toss this cigar on my “okay” shelf.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 33 mins.

RATING: 2.5 / 4 - Okay cookies
