WEST TAMPA TOBACCO CO. WHITE | CIGAR REVIEW

AUGUST 18, 2023 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

WEST TAMPA TOBACCO CO. WHITE TORO (6 x 52)

WRAPPER: HABANO LIGHT PINK

BINDER: ECUADORIAN HABANO

FILLER: NICARAGUA (OMETEPE SECO, JALAPA SECO, PUEBLO NUEVO VISO)

White starts out with some earth, sweetness, and spice. All mild. Same through the nose but a little darker. Spice is a touch more present on the finish, still joined by earth and sweetness.

The draw has a nice touch of resistance. Ample smoke output.

Smooth coffee begins to ripple in a bit further down. Leather follows.

Anise and graham cracker mix in with earth. Takes me back to the convenience store where we would grab bags of lemon drops, cinnamon bears, and anise candy when I was a kid.

Some smoke rollsâ„¢ and strategic placement on ashtray helps keep the burn line honest.

The wrapper cracks just above the band. Tragedy? We shall see.

Fast forward.

We victoriously burned through the first crack only to face another under the band. Heroically, we burned through that one as well. Legendary? Epic? I feel like that should be a quote at the beginning of some movie that’s way too long.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 30 mins.

RATING: 2.75 / 4 - No tragedy.
