AJ FERNANDEZ DÍAS DE GLORIA | CIGAR REVIEW
JANUARY 30, 2022 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC
AJ FERNANDEZ DÍAS DE GLORIA TORO (BOX-PRESSED) (6 x 56)
Cream, earth, sweetness (somewhere in the realm between brown sugar and maple syrup), and spice introduce the Días De Gloria. Enjoyable and well-balanced cream, wood, and earth grace the nasal passage. Spice does the heavy lifting on the finish but allows room for light cream and a very understated cherry.
An effortless draw provides a more than sufficient smoke output, which are accompanied by a slightly wavy but maintenance free burn.
Chocolate flows, influenced by an earthy cherry, which results in an earthy cherry chocolate. Gluten-free.
And, chocolate flows out of the picture. We hardly knew ye.
Everything seems to dance around and with each other, providing a bit of fun at the party. I rarely attend parties, but when I do, I attempt to find the least populated corner of the room. If I have a good conversation with one person for the duration of the party, I take it as a win. I don’t really “work the room”.
Speaking of working the room, aromas of cherry, wood, leather, and the slightest touch of spice entertain the guest (me) as Gloria rest, waiting for the next draw.
Cream builds bit by bit with earth pushing through, and wood takes on a little more responsibility. Promotion? What’s it pay? Cherry has dropped out for now. Orange and raisin seem to take its place in the fruit department.
Raisin with a dash of chocolate flow through the sniffer.
Smoke is all over the place up in this. My attempt at sounding younger and much cooler than I actually am.
Coffee grounds rest on the tongue with a tickle of spice. The word tickle seems funny.
I accidentally bump the ash against my ashtray. No effect. The ash might be tougher than Bruno from C Block.
Gloria winds down by way of mild earth, wood, tobacco, dark chocolate and white cake. Tasty.
Coffee grounds transform into smooth sips of coffee with some dark chocolate at the bottom of the mug for the finish.
Tapering down begins, and strength throws a punch. Good place to call it.
SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 57 mins.
RATING: 3.25 / 4 - Gloria defeats Bruno.
