BLACK LABEL TRADING COMPANY DREADNOUGHT | CIGAR REVIEW

JULY 2, 2023 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

BLACK LABEL TRADING CO. DREADNOUGHT TORO BOX PRESS (6 x 52)

WRAPPER: MEXICAN SAN ANDRÉS

BINDER: ECUADORIAN HABANO

FILLER: NICARAGUA

Earth, milk chocolate, wood, a touch of spice, and the slightest bit of marshmallow pull in from an effortless draw. Smoke output is excellent. Dark but mellow earth, chocolate, and dried fruit flow smoothly through the retrohale. Spice, dark earth, and dashes of salt and sugar hang out on the finish.

This is already one of those cigars that I’m enjoying enough that I couldn’t care less about transitions. Smooth, tasty, and relaxing so far.

By the way, this is an Atlantic Cigar Company exclusive. I don’t know if that’s the same as “going steady”. Does anyone still use that phrase? Anyway.

Coffee slides in, taking a lead role while allowing all the other players to keep doing their thing. Dried fruit makes a nice line through the draw now, as well. All play together well in perfect harmony. Spice begins to drop out little by little, further smoothing out Dreadnought.

Dreadnought burns straight to the end. Ash hangs on with nice and easy breaks. No complaints.

Darkens up more near the end, but never gets harsh, and stays smooth as a Sunday afternoon.

SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 41 mins.

RATING: 3.5 / 4 - Going steady.
