The Attic Series Attic. Not to be confused with Attica. Also, I’ve never watched the movie, nor have I visited the prison. Not sure if I’m missing anything. Anyway.
Attic greets me with dark chocolate, grilled steak fresh off a slab of oak, raisin, earth, and spice. Quite a tasty combination, especially given the dang near perfect balance. The retrohale is a bit more restrained, offering earth, spice, and a subtle, less sweet raisin. The finish leads with spice and drifts into coffee mixed with dashes of chicory and leather, which all fade away into an understated caramel.
I was watching Chad Smith play a drum solo while enjoying approximately 7 mins. and 31 secs. of Attic, and it reminded me how true it is that playing drums keeps you young. Smith is 61 years old. He looks younger, but more importantly, he plays drums like he’s still 20 with the awesomeness of decades of experience behind him. I know I’m biased, but drums are the best. Anyway.
Smoke flows effortlessly from Attic, providing the room with aromas of dark chocolate, wood, raisin, and a bit of spice.
Everything becomes more refined, and the caramel gets promoted to the draw, lightly coating raisin, dark chocolate, and smooth leather. This an excellent cigar with a burn line to match. No pun intended, unless that seemed extremely witty. In that case, it was intended.
The finish allows for leather to take a more prominent role while oak and sweetness follow smoothly behind.
Too many limited editions are average at best, but I’m glad I got my hands on this one. Well done.
SMOKE TIME: 1 hr. 57 mins.
RATING: 3.75 / 4 - Not to be confused with Attica. Never watched it.
