CRUX EPICURE HABANO | CIGAR REVIEW

SEPTEMBER 10, 2023 - PHIL KURUT, COMEDY - CIGARS - MUSIC

CRUX EPICURE HABANO TORO (6 1/4 x 52)

WRAPPER: NICARAGUAN HABANO

BINDER: NICARAGUA

FILLER: NICARAGUA

A good helping of earth settles in the driver’s seat. Nutty sweetness and spice battle for shotgun. Coffee seems happy enough in the backseat. Not going to sit in the middle, but either window will do.

Earth, wood, and spice meander off the foot. Draws easy and provides a generous output of smoke.

The finish kicks in leather, fades to coffee, and, ultimately leaves some spice. There’s tartness to the mouthfeel.

Blowing smoke out the nose, there are traces of earth, coffee, and mixed nuts. Nuttiness lingers for a while.

Letting the finish hang out longer than usual, some beef jerky starts coating the palate. A bit different, but not in a bad way whatsoever.

Chocolate mousse finds its way to the party. Subtle and tasty.

Habano requires some heavy smoke rollin’™ to keep the burn caught up here and there.

SMOKE TIME: 2 hrs.

RATING: 2.75 / 4
